Research and problem statement
Did you know that over 52,000 people die every year in Spain due to physical inactivity?
Despite the countless apps, gyms, and fitness programs available, most people struggle to stay consistent with their workout routines.
“Many users struggle to start or maintain a workout routine due to a lack of motivation, energy, and time, which leads them to abandon the habit before it becomes established.”
Ruwalka was born from this insight — with the goal of reducing the dropout rate in fitness routines by making exercise more social, motivating, and engaging.

Value Proposition
Our research revealed that exercising with others increases motivation, but coordinating with friends (schedules, places, routines) often becomes a barrier.
That’s why we designed Ruwalka, a gamified app that transforms any workout into a collaborative experience.
Users don’t need to meet in person — instead, they train individually but progress together, combining

Value Proposition
Ruwalka transforms the way people stay active by combining personal goals with team-based motivation. Users join weekly challenges where each kilometer they run or walk contributes to their team’s collective progress — turning what’s usually a solitary effort into a shared journey.
As the team advances, they travel virtually from city to city, unlocking new milestones along the way. The aim isn’t to run the furthest, but to stay consistent together: every member has a tailored distance goal, and the team only moves forward when everyone completes theirs.
This system encourages accountability, collaboration, and long-term engagement — key elements in turning physical activity into a lasting habit.
Ultimately, Ruwalka aims to reduce workout dropout rates and create a community where staying active feels rewarding, social, and fun.
